Recent progresses in the development of graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) electronic systems have sparked renewed interest in the field of strong interlayer interactions and corresponding novel quantum phases. In particular, the highly tunable electronic properties of constituent 2D layers, together with the accessibility of ultra-small interlayer separation, enable the investigation of the drag effect in previously inaccessible strong-coupling regimes.In this talk, I will present our recent work on the interlayer drag experiments in several graphene-based electronic double-layer systems, to reveal a fingerprint feature of drag effect between massless and massive fermions, to discover a new type of quantum interference effect in inter-layer Coulomb drag, and to demonstrate a giant and highly-tunable supercurrent drag effect. Here I present the concept of correlated oxide nanoelectronics to bridge the gap between semiconductor nanoelectronics and strongly correlated phenomena in oxides. I will give out several examples to show such combination has great advantages: 1) Nanoelectric tools are powerful to study correlated phenomena; and in return\\u00a0 2) Electron correlations add richness of properties to nanoelectronic devices. Specifically, I will talk about quantum transport study of electron correlations in superconducting single electron transistors and electron waveguides at the LaAlO3\\\/SrTiO3 interface. The challenge lies in commanding its chaotic behavior. By dispersing swimming bacteria in a liquid crystalline (LC) environment with spatially varying orientation defined by the liquid crystalline polymer networks, we demonstrate control over the distribution of bacterial concentration, as well as the geometry and polarity of their trajectories. Bacteria recognize subtle differences in the topological structures in the LC, engaging in bipolar swimming in regions of pure splay and bend but switching to unipolar swimming in mixed splay-bend regions. In the second part, I will talk about how to remotely programm the reversible and complex morphing in the monolithic liquid crystalline polymer networks, namely liquid crystal elastomer(LCE), by integrating kirigami designs with topological structures. This shape-morphing arises due to the interplay between the custom-cut sample geometry and topology in the material microstructure. We obtained a rich variety of out-of-plane shape transformations including auxetic structures and undulating morphologies by combining different topological structures and kirigami geometries. Different functionalities such as bio-inspired fluttering butterfly, flower bud, dual-rotation light-mill and dual-mode locomotion are realized.
